Philippine Tribal Fighting
Arnis is a very eclectic system made up of several systems mainly from the Northern regions of the Philippines which teaches weapons first including a double knife, single knife, single stick, double stick, stick and dagger, rope, staff and improvised weapons. Dumog/ Filipino Ground fighting. Empty hand transitions are taught at the same time. Arnis which means weapons is an awesome exotic yet brutal system for those who wish real no-nonsense exotic self-defense or offense if needed with the ability to handle more than just one attacker at one time and finish the situation quickly with destructive power.
Training is simple to understand. You can have any weapon and the technique will translate movement for movement from weapon to weapon and then empty hand. Empty hand applications from each weapon movements are taught along with devastating hand and foot techniques and drills to enhance the student's ability to handle most situations they encounter. Filipino ground fighting "Dumog" (added into our curriculum from another system) skills are taught to round off the system.
Hand to hand sensitivity drills and Panantukan (dirty) Boxing is taught.
This class is kept to only 8 to 10 per class. All Philippine training is solid. We teach authentic Arnis under a Family system which is from the Northern Philippine province of Isabella. Many things have been added by Guro Williams from his prior and continued training under private instructors for his advancement in the Philippine arts.
Class Times: Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 PM
